Web design, Salt Lake City

Your website should be working harder than you are.

I design and build websites specifically for Salt Lake businesses. I write the words too, so nothing waits on you. Most projects go live within two weeks.

What I usually find

Most sites I look at were built once, a few years back, by someone who's since moved on. They look fine on a laptop and fall apart on a phone. The homepage says "Welcome to our website" instead of saying what you do. The contact form goes to an inbox nobody checks anymore.

None of that is your fault. There's never a good moment to deal with your website, and there's always a busier month coming.

The fix is smaller than it sounds. Not a rebrand, not a marketing strategy. Just saying clearly what you do, loading fast on a phone, and making it obvious how to reach you. About two weeks of my time and thirty minutes of yours.

What you get

A site that loads fast and works properly on a phone, hosted and secured on our professional server
Copy written for you, so you're not stuck staring at a blank document for three weeks
Obvious ways to call, book, or get in touch, on every page
Your Google listing cleaned up, with real hours and real photos
The whole thing in your own repository, yours to take anywhere

How it works

Step one

We talk for thirty minutes. I ask what you do, who your best customers are, and what you wish the site did. Prior to our call, I'll review your current site to find the most dire issues.

Step two

I run local market research, write copy specific to your clients, and design the website to speak to your customers. You see the real thing, not a mockup, in about a week.

Step three

One round of changes, then it goes live. I handle the domain and the technical parts. You own the final design and are welcome to take it elsewhere whenever you want.

What it costs

Essential $2,500

Three pages, copy written for you, mobile, contact form, a link out to whatever booking tool you already use, and your Google listing set up.

About a week

Complete $5,500

Eight to ten pages, everything in Standard, plus real booking or scheduling integration and deeper work on how you're positioned against everyone else in town.

About three weeks

Additional pages are $250 each. Half up front, half when it goes live.

After it launches

You shouldn't have to log into anything. When your hours change or you want to swap a photo, email me and it's done that day. I keep it hosted, backed up, secure, and updated.

$100 a month

This covers basic hosting, monthly security audits, backups, and small design and copy changes. Cancel whenever. The site is yours either way.

$300 a month

Adds your Google Business Profile: keeping it current, asking your happy customers for reviews, answering the ones that come in, and a one-page report each month so you can see what's actually happening.

Who this works for

This works best when one new customer is worth real money to you. Dental and medical practices, law firms, contractors, custom builders, clinics, agencies.

If that's you, the math tends to be simple. One good job or a handful of new patients usually covers the whole thing.

After that it quietly does its job. Someone looks you up at nine at night, gets a clear answer about what you do and how to reach you, and you stop wondering whether your website is helping you or embarrassing you.

Who you're actually hiring

I'm Cody. I design and build the whole thing myself: the pages, the words, the setup. You'll work with one person from the first email through launch.

I spent eight years doing this for software companies with millions of users, and it mostly taught me that clear beats clever. Most sites don't need to be more persuasive, they need to say the obvious thing sooner. That's usually where the work is.

I live in Salt Lake City. Email me and you'll usually hear back the same day.

Questions people ask

How long does it take?

One to three weeks depending on size. The main thing that slows a project down is waiting on the client for copy, and I've removed that by writing it.

Do I own it?

Yes, all of it. The code lives in your repository and the domain stays in your name.

What if my photos are bad?

I'll tell you honestly whether they're holding the site back. Sometimes we shoot new ones, sometimes your phone is enough, sometimes it doesn't matter.

Can I edit it myself?

No, and that's on purpose. Nothing to log into, nothing to break. Email me and it's handled.

What happens to my current site?

It stays up until the new one is ready. Nothing goes dark.

Do you do SEO?

I do the parts that actually matter for a local business: your Google listing, real service pages, fast loading. I don't sell monthly SEO packages.

Want to see what yours could look like?

Send me your website and I'll tell you what I'd change. No charge and no pitch, and if I don't think I can help I'll say so.
